Units

ASUCD provides programs and services to its students based on four pillars: basic services, media, advocacy, and social. ASUCD units employ hundreds of student employees who work hard to provide each and every student with the programs and services they need to thrive and succeed at UC Davis. Each unit, with its own unique mission, ensures that we can get back to better.

 

Coffee House

The Coffee House (also known as the CoHo) is located at the Memorial Union and is a hotspot for students to grab a bite, study, or catch up with friends. With options including pizza, bagels, sandwiches and more, the CoHo is the perfect spot for a meal or a quick bite between classes.

The Pantry

The Pantry is an ASUCD unit that fights food insecurity on campus by providing non-perishable, high-protein foods to students free of charge. All students need is a valid UC Davis ID card and their approved Daily Symptom Survey.

Unitrans

With 48 buses, 21 routes, and over 22,000 daily passengers, Unitrans provides public transportation services to the city of Davis. There’s no cash fare required for undergraduate students, so keep an eye out for the iconic red buses the next time you need a ride!

Bike Barn

The Bike Barn is a full-service repair shop located in the heart of the Silo. Run by students for students, the Bike Barn offers full repair services, bike locks, bike lights, and other bike accessories. to ensure students stay safe, the Bike Barn also offers free helmets to those in need.

HAUS

The Housing Advising for Undergraduate Students (also known as HAUS) is the ASUCD unit that hosts Housing Day, the one-stop source for students to find their next home. During Housing Day, students explore the many housing options available in and around Davis all in one place, taking the stress out of apartment hunting.

Aggie Reuse Store

The Aggie Reuse Store is our campus’ very own thrift shop. It provides our students with office supplies and books, art materials, clothes and accessories, small electronics and housewares, and handmade crafts through waste diversion and creative reuse.

ASUCD Garden

ASUCD Garden is the unit that occupies five acres of organic farmland. ASUCD Garden provides educational opportunities to learn more about organic, sustainable gardening and access to nutrient-rich, organic fruits and vegetables.

Creative Media

Creative Media is a full-service marketing agency run by students. The Marketing, Design, and Programming teams within Creative Media work together to produce engaging content to promote and advertise ASUCD and its units, committees, and commissions.

Aggie Studios

Aggie Studios is Creative Media’s premier video production subunit, comprised of artistic students coming together to tell the stories of our community. With teams in videography, photography, animation, and more, Aggie Studios is the perfect place to start for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in digital media.

The California Aggie

The Aggie is the best hands-on experience for students interested in journalism, reporting, and other aspects of newspaper design and production.

KDVS

KDVS, broadcasting on 90.3FM, is a student-run, alternative, and freeform radio station. KDVS gives students a place to learn broadcast, production, and managerial skills and provides its audience diverse, freeform, and non-commercial radio.

CCE

Campus Center for the Environment (also known as the CCE) is the unit for any student with a green thumb. With projects such as Project Compost, Project Garden, or Project Challenge, CCE inspires students to take initiative in creating a greener tomorrow with practical ways to be environmentally conscious.

Entertainment Council

Entertainment Council is an ASUCD unit dedicated to bringing music and entertainment to our campus. From open mic opportunities to inviting iconic musicians to perform, Entertainment Council provides a platform for students to destress with the help of music.

Picnic Day

Picnic Day is the annual open house for UC Davis and is also the largest student-run event in the nation, welcoming over 75,000 people to our campus. A dedicated board of 15 student directors oversees the event and works with student organizations to showcase what UC Davis is all about.

Originally a modest art class project, Whole Earth Festival (also known as WEF) has evolved into a unique celebration of sustainability and environmental consciousness. Whole Earth Festival is perfect for art and nature lovers looking to enjoy a weekend of environmental consciousness and delicious food, all with zero-waste.

Mental Health Initiative

The UC Davis Mental Health Initiative (MHI) is a student-run organization that aims to engage in the destigmatization of mental health awareness through educational efforts, unity, and self-reflection. MHI prompts the community to engage in efforts and events that promote destigmatization of mental health-related discourses and organizes large scale events such as the annual Mental Health Conference, Mental Health Awareness Month (MHAM), and other on-campus advocacy projects.
