ASUCD Environmental Policy and Planning Commission
Wilson is senior Environmental Science and Management major who hails from Oxnard, California. He has served on EPPC as Commissioner 11-12 and now as Vice Chair 12-13. Wilson enjoys working alongside other ASUCD departments, campus groups, and students to progress sustainable initiatives and practices on the UC Davis campus. As you might have guessed, he has a passion for the natural world. Wilson can found hiking, backpacking, or otherwise engaged in an outdoor activity in his free time. Hi! My name is Anjali Kadakia and I am a second year pursuing a biotechnology degree. This is my first year on the ASUCD commission and i’ve loved being able to get involved at UC Davis in different ways. Apart from ASUCD, I am a part of the davis dance team and work at the memorial union. I love listening to music, watching movies, and hanging out with my friends.
Elaine is a second year Environmental Policy, Analysis, and Planning major from Oakland, California. She has served on the Environmental Policy and Planning Commission since 2011. She is currently the Sustainability Intern at the CoHo. In her free time she enjoys volunteering at the Student Farm, ushering at the Mondavi Center, reading, being outdoors, and exploring.
Flora Carn is third year majoring in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning, with a minor in Communications. After interning at the California State Capitol for governor Jerry Brown, she became interested in government policy and how it can work towards environmental conservation. Wanting to learn more about environmental policies and projects on our progressive UC Davis campus, as well as help to promote the environment on campus, she joined EPPC. Sticking with the environmental theme, Flora loves any activities outdoors especially hiking, lake swimming, and backpacking. She also works for City/County Affairs in ASUCD, as well as at the CoHo so the next time she makes you a sandwich feel free to mention any of your own environmental interests!
Perla Solis is a third year double major in Environmental Policy and Analysis and Anthropology She looks forward to serving the student body through her work on the Environmental Policy and Planning Commission. Outside of EPPC you can find her working at the Financial Aid Office on campus and working with the Student Recruitment and Retention Center on outreach youth events and conferences. Phillip Tran is a third year Environmental Policy Anslysis and Planning major and is working towards a double major in Economics. He is originally from Arcadia, CA and is also a peer advisor for the Center for Student Involvement. Along with his involvement in these two organizations, he also helped to co create the Environmental Club at UC Davis and is currently the president of the club. He loves meeting new people and hearing stories from others so that he can gainthe most he can in life. When he isn’t being active on campus or elsewhere, he enjoys long walks on the beaches, chasing sunsets, capturing the best moments of life on camera, and having a good time and good food with friends and family.
Haley Proehl is a fourth year Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning major and Communications minor from Reno, Nevada. She is excited to work with her fellow commissioners to make campus more sustainable and teach other students about how they can lead a green lifestyle! Apart from EPPC, Haley also works for Project Compost on campus. Outside of ASUCD, Haley enjoys yoga, skiing, the outdoors, and eating anything pumpkin flavored. Attending Davis was one of the best decisions she ever made, go Aggies!
Dana Wilke is a second year majoring in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning with a minor in Spanish. She is from Danville, CA and hopes to be a bilingual environmental lawyer one day. This is her first position with ASUCD and she is very excited to be apart of the EPPC since the environment is one of her passions. When she’s not saving the world, she enjoys running, water skiing, playing soccer or pretty much any sport and spending time with family and friends.
Jessie is a second year Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning and Economics double major from Los Angeles, California. She is looking forward to working with EPPC to make positive changes around UC Davis. In addition to ASUCD, Jessie also works with the Waste Reduction and Recycling Program on campus. She is a coffee and tea enthusiast who enjoys listening to music, eating delicious food, and living an environmentally conscious life.
Naftali Moed is first year Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning major from Pacifica, California. Having previously worked with the National Park Service and multiple environmentally focused non-profits, he is looking forward to having the opportunity to employ his commitment to the environment to serve the UC Davis community. Naftali loves hiking, biking, travelling, growing food and welcomes anyone to approach him with questions or ideas about ways to make Davis more sustainable!
Kelly is a first year double majoring in Environmental Science & Management and Design from Fremont, California. She is looking forward to serving the students of UCD through EPPC. Kelly enjoys doodling in her sketch book, listening to music, reading comics, gardening, and working on projects related to the environment.
