Brett C. Burns
Brett joined the Associated Students of the University of California, Davis (ASUCD) in February 2012 as the Business Manager. Brett works with the ASUCD Controller, ASUCD Student Government Officials and the ASUCD Unit Directors to ensure financial stability and proper operation of the Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit. Previously he had spent over 16 years in various management, finance, and facility management positions. He graduated from the University of California at Davis with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Economics with an emphasis in Organizational Management and received his Master’s Degree from Ohio University.
Upon graduation, Brett worked for the Oakland Athletics Baseball Company and provided consulting services to the Sacramento Rivercats on the development and construction of Raley Field. After attending graduate school in Ohio, Brett and his family migrated back to California and his alma mater. Upon his return to UC Davis, Brett began working on the development/construction of the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) a 150,000 square foot student life facility that included recreational space, retail, lounges, and meeting rooms. After the opening of the ARC in 2005, Brett was hired as the Director of Memorial Union Auxiliary Services, where he provided direction for student unions, retail food service, and event facilities in the Division of Student Affairs. More recently until his move to ASUCD, Brett served as the Executive Director of Auxiliary Services at UC Davis with the responsibility for the UC Davis Stores, Center for Student Involvement, retail food service, trademark licensing, student unions, and event facilities.
Brett lives in East Sacramento with his wife Jill (UC Davis Alumni), and his three children Madeline, Owen, and Sadie with any luck, all future Aggies.
