How Do I Register?

IN PERSON REGISTRATION refers to our extended office hours during registration week. You can come in and register for classes up until the start date of the classes. If there is space, you can even register after the class has begun for most classes, though you will not receive a discount for missing the first class(es).

MAIL IN REGISTRATION is possible by sending your contact info (phone #, email and mailing address), course info, a check (made out to Experimental College) and a Self Adressed Stamped Envelope (for a reciept) to:

You can also download a printable registration form HERE and send it in with payment. There should be one form filled out for each student. Don''t forget about the registration fee. $10 for UCD Students, $15 for Non-UCD students

Refund Policy

EC policy is to discourage refunds. Full refunds will be issued only for cases of cancelled classes, medical concerns, or rescheduled courses which create schedule conflicts. In all other cases, such as dissatisfaction with the course, please submit a request in writing to the EC office manager in order to receive a refund for course fees (registration fees will not be refunded). If your request is received three working days before the start of the class, a refund can be issued with no problem. Refunds requests after this require the instructor''s permission.

Fees

COURSE FEE The course fee is listed with the class description. This does not include the registration fee, so remember to factor that in.

REGISTRATION FEE The reg fee is charged once per quarter to each student. The fee is $10 for UCD graduate and undergraduate students and $15 non UCD students. This means that the listed course fee of any particular course will not reflect the registration fee, so you should remember to factor that into the cost of your courses. During the Summer, your registration fee will cover both Summer Session 1 and Summer Session 2.

MEMBERSHIP An Experimental College membership is an alternative to paying a quarterly registration fee. Membership is good for one year. An EC member does not pay registration fees for four quarters (1 year), has library checkout privileges, and recieves a free, hand-printed, Experimental College T-shirt (while supplies last). Membership costs $20 for UCD students, and $30 for others.

MATERIALS FEES Materials fees are required for some courses. These are collected by the instructor at the first class meeting. This information is given in the respective course descriptions.

Course Locations

You will be given the course location when you sign up for the course. EC staff are not allowed to give out class locations if you have not registered for the class. If you would like to observe the class, we will be happy to put you in touch with the teacher, and you can ask them.

Why Sign Up Early?

Class enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis. By registering early, you will ensure that you have a spot in the class.
Avoid the disappointment that happens when a class has been cancelled early due to low enrollment.
After designated registration, our office hours are 12-4 on weekdays, but these are subject to change.
